Arrival in Tralee.
Today we arrived in Tralee, our starting point for the Ring of Kerry. We have 9 days with 7 or 8 days (your choice) of cycling. We walked the city, a lot bigger and busier than we expected. Our train trip from Dublin took just under 4 hours through some beautiful countryside. First challenge, find a department store. It seems someone arrived in Ireland without some important clothing, and it wasn’t Elvis. Apparently, they were all in the bag we left in storage in Dublin so we wouldn’t have to drag it on the bike tour. Problem solved. While I was looking for clothes in a local department store, Joe was busy surveying the meat and cheese department of the local grocery store. During our search for the department store we found a beautiful church, St John, that was preparing for the daily mass (in the evening). I was surprised at the large number of people filing in. We stopped by the bike rental shop where we will pick up our bikes tomorrow and were assured the traffic (on the other side of road) would not be a problem. Evidently, Irish drivers aren’t as impatient as Americans. We shall see.
After shopping and dinner, of course, we landed in our hotel bar.
